Welcome to Saharco alumni USA website.

We are graduates of a premier high school in Aba, Nigeria, called Sacred Heart College.  If you happen to be a member of the Saharco Old Boys Association (SOBA) USA, “UmuBoys” as we traditionally call ourselves, you are indeed a treasure.

SOBA USA is a fraternal alumni organization of former students at Sacred Heart College, Aba, scattered across the globe. The organization was inaugurated in 2001 in Atlanta Georgia, with her membership participation and contribution towards the improvement of their alma mater enshrined in the organization’s Charter. During SOBAUSA’s inaugural meeting in 2001, the membership appraised the depth of decay and neglect of their alma mater’s erstwhile beautiful landscape and infrastructures, and collectively resolved that they had a moral obligation to contribute their quota to ensure that the great institution, Sacred Heart College, Aba, which groomed and equipped them with necessary survival skills, was rescued from further dilapidation and extinction.

Our alumni have over the years distinguished themselves in various fields of endeavor, including but not limited to academic careers, arts, businesses, engineering, financial sectors, health care industry, Information technology, legal professions, and political leadership. We intend to leverage this broad knowledge and network we have to continuously improve our alma mater, and by so doing shape the next generation of boys who will go through this school so that they can become responsible and useful citizens of any society they find themselves in the future.

In an effort to attract enough donation from our alumni, non-alumni, and various organizations, we have also established a duly registered corporation, Saharco Foundation. This corporation is registered in the state of Commonwealth of Virginia, USA. Saharco Foundation is a 501 (c ) (3) tax-exempt organization by the United State Internal Revenue Service. This makes any contribution to the Foundation fully deductible for income tax purposes.
